The Public Hearing had a good turn out, about 60 people showed up. There was a lot of discussion about the River Conservation District and the river. Three maps were displayed with the different possibilities for the district, one as it is now, one that the planning commission recomended and the third was only 500 ft. from the center of the river. The planning commission chairman, Tom Miller was there and explained some of what has taken place pretty well. He and the supervisor didn't agree on everything that was said. The board took a vote from the people there to see which map they favored, with the planning commission's map getting the most votes. They had to vote twice because the people were getting confused. In the end the board tabled any decision on the map at that meeting.
At the February board meeting, they tabled the decision again. Now they want to have a workshop meeting with the planning commision. Why didn't they do that before? Why are they putting off making a decision when the planning commission already studied this topic and has alot of time into it already? Someone spoke up and said they should trust the planning commission to do their job as they were appointed to do. Hmmm. Now we have to wait and see what they do next, probably change it again. ???????
