YOU ASKED FOR IT..

My thoughts on the July board meeting. Well, it was another case of the supervisor trying to interfere with another official's job and a control issue on his part. Rushing slammed the treasurer, kept badgering her for information, it was very un-professional. Belesky is not even running for treasurer again, so what's his reason for such behavior????
So, here's my run down: Rushing was childish and un-professional, Waddy was prepared and informative as usual, Hazelton was not very participating, lost, Belesky was on the defensive but professional, and Titus might as well not been there, useless.
Business was conducted with some stupid input, but at least it was done. Nothing has been done on the River Conservation District yet, they're still in meetings with the planning commission on this. More stalling tactics, possibly.
Anyone else want to comment on the meeting? Please post. Looking forward to hearing other opinions.

Not so long ago (4 years) Riley Twp was the model township in St. Clair County. People in the county would comment on how well the Township Board worked together FOR THE PEOPLE. Riley Twp was at the forefront of administration and the envy of other townships. The rural character of the township was enforced, the river was protected, and people were proud to say, "I live in Riley Twp".-- SO, what has changed? 4 years ago we elected Dave Rushing, Linda Hazelton and Al Titus. NOW, Riley Twp is the laughing stock of St. Clair County. THINK ABOUT IT

I appreciate you posting the info so quickly. I understand that there was also quite a bit of discussion involving the ordinance enforcement officer. From what I hear, he is going to be very busy now that we have reidents looking forward to him settling their neighborhood feuds.
I just wonder how any of this helps the township go forward? What does this really accomplish? Hopefully we can get some people in office that care about the future here, including maintaining our rural character and putting protections in for the river district.

I'm sure that it is just a stalling tactic to continue talking and doing nothing about River Conservation.
What I don't understand is why Dave Rushing continues to badger the treasurer about information that I'm sure he could get on his own if he just put in a little effort. I can only guess that it is because he treats her as he has other women who have spoken up and he disagrees with. He belittles, demeans and hopes they go away. With the election coming soon, perhaps he can be the one to go away.

My neighbor is pissed off, because he came home to find a Rushing sign in his yard. He wasn't even asked. So, most of his signs you see around the township were probably put there without permission. Typical of him. If he puts one in my yard, I'll burn it. So, don't believe everything you see. He probably was getting turned down alot, so he just did what he wanted. Typical again.

You must have bumped your head...4 years ago our supervisor and treasurer (wife) resigned and left town when certain information was foid...it took over 2 years to sell their home but they have disappeared from the scene,....hmmmm

Have you bumped your head?
4 years ago our township supervisor and treasurer(wife)resigned with no warning when certain documents were foi'd!
they sold their house and left town with no fanfare....hmmmm
As far as Dave putting signs on property without permission...that is a LIE, he has asked permission first...get a grip people, he has spent the last four years trying to undo some of the mess that was left behind.....

Have you bumped your head?
4 years ago the supervisor and treasurer (his wife)resigned with no notice and left town with a for sale sign on their house...why? well certain information was foi'd and rather than produce it, they ran away...hummm....
As far as Dave putting his signs on without permission...that is a lie..wake up people, Dave has spent the last four years trying to undo the mess left behind by the last supervisor (who, by the way put his head in the sand about anything that would make our township better!)
We have been out here 20 years and have watched the good old boys run their machine.....not for us, but for their pocket.....

It seems that unless you have only negative things to say about the current supervisor you cannot be posted, why?

I moved my family here just a few years ago and loved the atmosphere, great people, working people, agriculture, wildlife and a great place to raise children. The rural character was so attractive and a great place to enjoy after a hard days work. The stars at night the gorgeos sunsets above the canopy of trees, cornfields, and the Belle River. We should look at the big picture and try to keep things the way they are. There is an old principle that works well and it is called the K.I.S.S. system...
KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.
