GOOD POINT MADE.....

It has been suggested that we give a woman a chance as supervisor of Riley Township. Considering this is the year of "The Woman" in politics nationwide, I think it's the perfect time to elect Kitty Slamka as our next supervisor. She would be a refreshing change for this township. I don't believe it makes any difference what party our local officials are, it's more important to elect the right person for the job. Like someone who will listen to us, or has the guts to say no when needed. Someone who really cares about Riley and ALL the people in it. Someone who is ready, willing, and able to fill the office of supervisor. The fact that she's a woman, just makes her more qualified. Think about it.So, come on women, let's stick together and vote for Kitty (and you men too). Just look for the name "Kitty Slamka" on election day and make your mark, then walk away knowing you made the right choice.

I agree 100%, just look around St. Clair county, woman are supervising townships and must be doing a good job, they keep getting re-elected. Kitty Slamka would be a refreshing change. I think she just might get Riley Twp going in the right direction.

Yeah, Riley hasn't had a woman supervisor in over 30 years. I think it's about time.

I'm voting strictly Democratic, for the local township offices, that is. Don't know what I'm doing for the rest of them?????

I wouldn't vote for anyone based strictly on their gender. That being said, knowing both candidates, I will be voting for Kitty Slamka for supervisor.
Kitty may not have the "million dollar businesses" that Dave Rushing continues to tell us. Kitty may not own as much acreage as Dave does. What Kitty does have is a strong moral character that will guide her in her decisions as to what is best for ALL the citizens in Riley Township. Kitty also has a sense of humor that will not allow her to take herself to seriously and a heart that reaches out to others that need her.
Kitty would be an excellent choice for supervisor, as the "face of the township" to help restore the reputation and respect that Riley Township had four years ago in the county.

Well, regarding what "Riley Citizen" said about Rushing's million dollar business, I think he's expanding. I drove past his house the other day and saw two large pole barns and one has partions in it, offices? Wanna bet he doesn't have any permits. And don't you need some kind of approval for a business at your home? I plan on checking this out the first chance I get. Very curious. I don't think the township supervisor should get any special treatment because of his position. Do you? How can you enforce when you don't follow the rules yourself?

If Mr. Rushing is using his pole buildings for anything other than storage, he should get a visit from the building and electrical inspector.
